Key Components of a Hospital Emergency Management Program (EMP)

Attached is an Emergency Management Program (EMP)/Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) Checklist which provides guidance to hospitals on the components included in an EMP. This tool was developed by CHA’s Hospital Preparedness Program.

As noted, there is no standardized format for Emergency Management Programs (EMP), and the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is just one component of the EMP. Some of the documentation referenced on the checklist may be located in annexes or separate binders; this can be noted in the “Location” column. The order of the components is not mandated.
