June 8th HAvBED Drill a Huge Success
CDPHi and EMSA have announced that the June 8th HAvBED drill was a huge success.
California hospitals exceeded the mandated response goal of 75 percent and vastly exceeded previous performance.
The drill resulted in timely responses from 89 percent of California hospitals and 96 percent of HPP participating hospitals. CDPH reported that most counties submitted reporting for all hospitals.
The announcement acknowledged that the success of the drill was due in large part to the active support of their partners: California’s hospitals, Local EMS Agencies, Local Health Departments, Local HPP Entities, Regional Disaster Medical Health Specialists (RDMHSs), Medical Health Operational Area Coordinators (MHOACs) the HAvBED Advisory Workgroup and the California Hospital Association.
Hospitals will soon receive direct communications from their local emergency medical services agency (LEMSA) or other designated local entity on the results of the drill.
