Disasters occur in many forms — the only certainty is that they
will happen. The Disaster Planning Conference guides
hospitals and health systems to prepare for those disasters,
regardless of the type. Planning ahead translates to limited
business disruption, personnel safety, maintained data integrity,
and established responsibilities during and following the
disaster event.
More than 800 people — including hospital staff, local, state and
federal officials – gathered this week in Sacramento
(see photo gallery) to strengthen hospital disaster
preparedness and build collaboration to ensure continuity of
care. The conference theme – Get Ready, Stay Ready –
highlighted readiness and resilience in the aftermath of a
disaster.
